I need tips on using Peirce Library Search

Answer

Peirce Library Search allows you to search many of our popular databases all at once.

You can find the Peirce Library Search box on the library homepage as well as all course guides. Here are a few tips on how to get the best results:

  • Check the box next to Full Text Only to get results for articles and eBooks to which you'll get immediate access. If you don't, for some results you will need to request through Interlibrary Loan.
  • After receiving your search results, you can narrow them down by clicking the All Filters box beneath the top search box.
    • Recommended filters include Date Range, Source Type (i.e., eBook, magazine article), and Subject.
  • If you want to save specific articles and eBooks so you can quickly access them later (highly recommended), create a MyEBSCO account. To do so, click the person icon in the upper right. In the pop-up window, select Create an account. Once you do, remember to sign in whenever you use Peirce Library Search, and you'll not only be able to save sources, but also group them into projects that you name (ex: "sources for HRM 201 paper")
  • You can search for a specific publication by clicking on Research Tools at the left and selecting Publications.
  • Is there a specific database you'd like to search? Type its name into the main search bar (ex: Nexis Uni) and hit Enter. A link to that specific database will appear at the top of the results.
